Amazing Photos: This Is Comet ISON

We just had a flyby of one of the most massive comets in our solar system. Comet ISON is huge, but was barely a blip in most viewing areas as it passed through Earth’s orbit. In the Canary Islands however, NASA recorded some photos of the inside of the comet.

Comet ISON has been shrouded in mystery. First the satellite that was supposed to crash a camera into it went offline, Deep Impact. Then as mysteriously as it went offline, it came back online and is lining up into firing range.

The comet went bright and the dust from it made Mars all a glow with space dust. Then it suddenly went dim, and scientists could not explain it as it should have gotten brighter as it flew closer to the sun.  People are in for a treat as NASA said that when we pass through the comet, it may cause flares like the Northern Lights and meteor showers like we have never seen in our life time. There is even speculation that it was destined to hit Earth on the orbit once it shoots around the sun or solar flares that could cause massive electronic chaos on earth.

It makes people wonder just at the sheer size of this thing, what does it look like on the inside? Is it a moon, a rock, a giant ice ball, or even a UFO?

Well, at our outpost in the Canary Islands, NASA brought some powerful telescopes to bear on this massive space object. What they found is actually pretty neat.
