If this outrages you, write to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Here

The morning started peaceful enough last Saturday August 17th for Marc Messmer, and Duane Weed.  They were preparing to attend an “Overpasses For Obama’s Impeachment” rally in St. Charles, MO.  After arriving at the overpass, the group initially received a bit of friction from the St. Charles Police Dept., but after speaking with their on duty Sergeant, the issues were resolved and the peaceful protestors were granted permission to stay.

Shortly after that, there was an accident on the highway below caused by an intoxicated driver, resulting in a DWI arrest being made.

Now enter several Missouri State Troopers vehicles responding to the overpass.  The peaceful protestors were ordered to leave immediately by Trooper Jenkins (Badge/ID# DSN460).  Marc Messmer and Duane Weed inquired as to why, and Trooper Jenkins claimed it to be a hazard to traffic.  He cited the accident earlier that occurred below, but failed to mention that it was caused by an impaired driver who subsequently was arrested.  Marc and Duane stated that they were on public property, and they choose not to comply with Trooper Jenkins request.  At that point, both were placed under arrest, and done so by an excessive use of force as displayed in the video.

After being cuffed, they were physically placed on the curb next to the tailpipe of a running police car.  Marc and Duane politely pleaded to move back a few feet due to becoming lightheaded dizzy, and nauseated, and they were ordered to stay put.  After several more minutes, Marc said these fumes are killing me.  I am “about to vomit.” The Trooper told him to “lean forward and puke on the street.”

Now here’s where the story gets really interesting.  After being transported to jail, the Troopers must secure their weapons prior to entering the secure area.  Marc Messmer is such a law abiding citizen, when he realized he was about to enter a zone where weapons are prohibited, he asked the officers “Would you like my gun too?”  The officers froze, and exchanged looks of disbelief with each other.  Mr. Messmer said his legal concealed carry handgun was in his pocket.  So they were never searched, read their Miranda Rights, and placed into custody with a firearm.

Trooper Jenkins should be counting his lucky stars right now that he terrorized a couple of law abiding patriots, because had they been actual bad guys, he might not be here to push the charges through, which he has done!

Duane Weed and Marc Messmer have both been charged with disobeying a lawful order, and Marc has also been charged with resisting arrest.  Did he resist?  The video doesn’t seem to suggest that.  Was it a lawful order?  You decide.
